Pharma unit blast

The massive explosion at a pharmaceutical unit near Hyderabad is among one of the worst-ever industrial disasters in the country in recent years (Front page, July 1). India has been witness to a surge in explosion-related accidents in industrial establishments. The country boasts of being an industrial powerhouse with a lot of innovative schemes and reforms in place. But with tragedies such as the one near Hyderabad, desperate and vulnerable workers are paying the price. These accidents underline the need for authorities to implement stringent safety protocols and ensure regulatory oversight.

Authorities must step in

Thousands of CUET UG aspirants are worried. In the ‘physical education’ paper conducted on May 13, first shift, multiple questions were completely out of syllabus and at variance with the officially prescribed syllabus by the NTA. Despite several objections raised during the answer key challenge window, these questions were retained in the final answer key. Students who appeared in later shifts had an advantage. The education authorities must intervene as students who have worked hard for years should not face hardship.
